"The Babies" of 2009-10
We're in our third year of partnering with Equine Angels Rescue Sanctuary (EARS), a Premarin foal rescue and adoption facility in New Milford, CT, to rescue these otherwise slaughter-bound foals. We provide a home for these horses, give them age-appropriate training, and try to place them into permanent adoptive homes. As we care for these animals, we are seeking support at any level, from small one-time donations to pledges of monthly or annual support. The horses' needs are many but basic, including: hay, grain, blankets, halters, farrier and veterinarian care.
Our thanks to Shagbark Lumber of East Haddam for donating a generous amount of hay, grain and shavings. We are extremely grateful!
Honeybrook
This very sweet, gentle buckskin filly is seeking her forever home. Everyone who knows her at the farm has a story of her good nature. If you would like to meet her yourself, please visit the farm. We're open every day except Wednesday, from 10:00-3:00.
We are accepting donations at all levels for Honeybrook's care. Anyone wishing to sponsor, foster, or adopt this girl should contact us. |
Petear's
Light ("Petie")
Probably the youngest of the babies of 2009, Petie is very special to us. He was weaned very early, so he requires special care--he is still learning to eat solid foods, and takes lots of naps. Petie has a very rare and special coloration called "medicine hat." This coloration includes a mostly white body with coloration on the ears and top of the head. In native American legend, medicine hats and their riders were said to have supernatural protection against harm. We are accepting donations at all levels for Petie's care. |
