Jazzy Recuperating Well

Recently, Jazzy had a frightening episode of colic that required emergency surgery. Her operation was a success and her prognosis for a full recovery is good. She has now returned to the farm and is in good spirits as she convalesces under our watchful eyes. We are seeking donations, well-wishes, and prayers to help Jazzy in her path to complete recovery.

An Update on Jazzy's Recuperation

After her frightening episode of colic and emergency surgery, Jazzy's prognosis for a full recovery was good. She has now recovered sufficiently to return to her paddock! Her friend Tug was happy to welcome her home. We are grateful to all who have offered their love and support to our special pony, but we continue to seek donations, well-wishes, and prayers to help Jazzy along in her path to complete recovery.

In Urgent Need of Help: Jazzy

Jazzy may be the most well-loved, if not the most well-recognized pony at Ray of Light. She is the one who has patiently introduced horse-back riding to thousands of people, both children and adults, through the years. She is the penultimate "bomb-proof" pony who gives rides to our weekly open pony ride participants, to the Tiny Trotters, birthday party-goers, and students of the instructional riding program. And she does her work patiently, willingly, and forgivingly. She has taken the fear out of riding for many, inspired a love of horses and ponies for others, and has been a real friend to all (humans and animals alike) at Ray of Light. Her work has been important in helping to support the rescue horses and other animals that are not involved in the riding program.

Now it is time for us to help Jazzy. Last week (September 17), Jazzy suffered from colic. Colic signifies a dangerous, even life threatening condition. When we realized that Jazzy was in pain, we took all measures to assist her. It became clear that our own efforts and the efforts of the veterinarian were not going to be enough--Jazzy had to have surgery. That surgerical procedure is enormously expensive, but we knew we had a duty to help this very special pony, no matter the cost. Jazzy is now recuperating from her surgery and her prognosis is good.

We are optimistic that the surgery has saved her life. We are seeking donations to help pay for the surgical treatment and veterinary bills that we incurred. Will you help us to help Jazzy in her days of need?

Every dollar helps.

Thank you for your support!

Dear Jazzy, we love you, and we're wishing you a speedy recovery! XOXO
